Great North Care Record Digital Dashboard Now Live

You Said, We Did!

You asked for an easier way to view and explore Great North Care Record (GNCR) usage statistics, and we’re delighted to announce that the new GNCR Digital Dashboard is now live – GNCR Dashboard – Great North Care Record

You no longer need to download and navigate a large Excel workbook from our website. Instead, you can now access GNCR usage statistics through an interactive, user-friendly dashboard that allows you to quickly view, filter and drill down into the information that matters most to you.

Working in partnership with Newcastle University, and in particular Mike Smith and the Research Software Engineering Team, has designed and developed a dashboard that provides a clear overview of how GNCR is being used across the region.

The dashboard contains the same data that was previously available through the downloadable Excel workbook but presents it in a much more accessible and dynamic way. It also includes a range of additional features, including:

  • Usage trends over time by service type and organisation
  • Unique users versus potential users by service type and organisation
  • Widget-level insights showing which information is accessed most frequently
  • Training statistics and engagement data
  • Time efficiency savings demonstrating the value GNCR delivers to health and care professionals

Understanding the Value of GNCR

The dashboard provides valuable insights for a wide range of users, helping organisations better understand how GNCR is being utilised across the region. By highlighting usage patterns and engagement levels, the dashboard supports ongoing service development and helps demonstrate the impact of information sharing across health and care settings.

Jill Watson, GNCR Programme Manager “This dashboard offers a wealth of information for a variety of users, depending on the data they wish to explore. It enables the GNCR team and partner organisations to better understand how the platform is being used, identify opportunities to increase adoption, and showcase the benefits and value that GNCR delivers across the region.”

Partnership and Support

This achievement would not have been possible without the support of the North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Integrated Care System Digital Inclusion Network and Newcastle University Business School.

The Digital Inclusion Network, which promotes fair access to digital healthcare and works collaboratively with partners to reduce digital barriers, provided valuable support and funding to help make this project a reality.

The dashboard also builds on previous successful collaboration with Dr Rebecca Casey of Newcastle University Business School, whose research report demonstrated the tangible impact and benefits of the GNCR platform across health and care services.

We would like to thank everyone involved in bringing this project to life and look forward to seeing how the dashboard helps organisations make greater use of GNCR insights.
