Newcastle City Council start to share Adult Social Care data into the Great North Care Record

Newcastle City Council are the fifth Local Authority to start to share Adult Social Care data. This collaboration will support our health and care professionals significantly, and most importantly, it will help deliver safer, better care for service users.

This integration provides core adult social care data and is anticipated to be an initial phase as Newcastle City Council look to share more data in the future. Available now, within GNCR, users will be able to see structured data, in real time, which includes the following data:

  • Organisational Relationships,
  • Professional Relationships,
  • Social Relationships,
  • Familial Relationships,
  • Warning Assignments,
  • Alert Assignments,
  • Case Notes (10 Most Recent) and
  • Classifications Assignments

Newcastle City Council are the first Organisation to be sharing data into the ‘Alerts’ widget within GNCR. If there are alerts or warnings on a patient’s record, users will see the below banner prompting them to look in the widget:

Stephen Foreman, Informatics Manager, ‘We have supported and promoted GNCR since its inception and so are really pleased to be able to share critical information about those receiving Adult Social Care in Newcastle, to ensure people receive joined-up care in a safe and effective manner.’
