There is a HIE User Experience Study being carried out by a master’s student from Imperial College London. While the study is independent of Cerner, we expect it will give us a great opportunity to gain some insight into adoption across all HIEs in England. It involves a 5-minute online survey, with the option for users and those who have worked on deploying HIE to also participate in a phone interview which would take around 15-30 minutes.

Complete the survey here.

As well, HIE users or those who were involved in the implementation that want to discuss what has worked well, what hasn’t and ways to increase the uptake of HIE within an organisation, can use this link to provide contact details and a researcher from Imperial College London will get in touch to arrange an online interview.

About the study:

  • It is conducted independently by Imperial College London and assesses user acceptance of HIE using an online survey and barriers and facilitators
to uptake through semi-structured interviews with users and implementation teams (view this proposal)
  • Benefits of participation include:
    • Trusts will receive a report with research findings with recommendations on how to increase adoption
    • Opportunity to learn from peers
    • Opportunity to describe ways to improve the user experience
  • Participation to the survey is anonymous and voluntary
  • Participation in the interviews is voluntary – any identifiable information will be removed from the final report

The survey closes on Tuesday 14 July so hurry and get your response in soon!
